Summary

nstSTRK was launched in March 2024 in anticipation of STRK staking going live shortly after. 8 months have passed, and staking will go live very soon. In that time, with the community’s help, Nostra’s roadmap has changed and adapted. We are now set to expand Nostra Swap and Money Market onto EVM, targeting Monad as the first chain to launch.

To position Nostra as the go-to liquidity venue for all Starknet LSTs, it’s essential to maintain a neutral stance that fosters inclusivity and growth across the ecosystem. This proposal seeks community approval to sunset nstSTRK, redirecting focus to higher-priority initiatives. By stepping back from nstSTRK development, Nostra can strengthen its role as a neutral hub for all Starknet LSTs, providing unparalleled liquidity solutions and creating greater benefits for the ecosystem and its users.

Motivation

1. Roadmap Prioritization:

  • Time and resources can be better allocated to Nostra Swap (a DEX aggregator on Monad) and Lend & Borrow EVM launch, which have clearer demand and align with Nostra’s growth strategy. These initiatives are critical for driving user adoption and expansion.

2. LST Neutrality:

  • By not developing nstSTRK, Nostra can remain neutral and focus on being a hub for all major STRK LSTs. This neutrality fosters collaboration and ensures Nostra supports diverse liquidity sources without fragmenting the ecosystem.

Benefits

  • Resource Optimization: Frees up development and operational bandwidth for high-priority initiatives.
  • Strategic Positioning: Strengthens Nostra’s ecosystem by integrating top STRK LST providers instead of competing against them.
  • Collaboration Opportunities: Enhances relationships with established LST projects, bringing more liquidity and users to Nostra.

Next Steps

  1. Leave this proposal open for discussion until November 28th
  2. If there are no material objections, open a Snapshot vote with the proposal
  3. If the proposal is voted yes, we will proceed with switching off withdrawal fees and sunsetting nstSTRK

  • For: Approve sunsetting nstSTRK development and reallocating resources.
  • Against: Continue with nstSTRK development despite competing priorities.

I’m in favor of this proposal !
I feel like communities on Starknet are emerging and it’s a good thing for Nostra step back and support Starknet communities by allowing them to have their own LST through Nostra

I completely support sunset of nstSTRK. Just want to remind that on the sunrise of nstSTRK it was promised that the redemption fee for STRK withdrawal will be cancelled once the staking is live. I offer to do it ASAP to get users ability stake their STRK natively and receive potential benefits.

The Snapshot vote is concluded, and the Nostra community voted FOR this proposal to sunset nstSTRK.
