Migrate NSTR liquidity From Mainnet to Starknet

Summary

This proposal recommends migrating NSTR/USDC liquidity from the Uniswap v3 pool on Ethereum mainnet to the NSTR/USDC Nostra Pool on Starknet, migrating all (approximately $511k) of current liquidity to deepen liquidity on Starknet and improve the price execution for NSTR.

Motivation

There has been minimal daily trading volume on Ethereum mainnet for NSTR compared to the more active and engaged trading environment on Starknet. By migrating liquidity, we can better support the NSTR token’s growth and enable greater participation within the Starknet ecosystem.

Proposal

The NSTR token is currently trading on Uniswap v3 on Ethereum mainnet with $511k in liquidity (4m NSTR / 255K USDC)

However, the low trading volume on Ethereum limits the potential use of this liquidity. By moving this liquidity to Nostra Pools on Starknet, we will:

  1. Increase the collateral factor of NSTR on the Money Market due to deeper liquidity in the Nostra pools.

  2. Improve trading efficiency by minimising slippage to support larger transactions on Starknet.

  3. Foster more robust ecosystem participation by engaging the growing Starknet user base with more accessible and liquid NSTR markets.

This move will position NSTR for more meaningful activity on Starknet and encourage broader token adoption as liquidity increases and trades can be executed more smoothly.

Next steps

  1. Leave this proposal open for discussion until October 4th
  2. If there are no material objections, open a Snapshot vote with the proposal
  3. If the proposal is voted yes, we will proceed with withdrawing from the NSTR/USDC from the Ethereum pool and bridge across to Starknet
  4. Deposit the NSTR and USDC into the Nostra Pool

Great proposition also the fees on ETH are back to be expensive in comparaison to be Starknet. It’s now possible to bridge easily to Nostra from ETH, I don’t see any bad consequence from this proposal

Good pro but first buil the bridge for users to bridge their $NSTR from Ether chain to Starknet

It baffles me that users on the eth network will have no place left where they can buy tokens, only through cex. Maybe you could take out 75% of the liquidity so you don’t have to close straight to 0.

It’s done to have all of the liquidity in one place especially when the trading volume has been low on Ethereum. Removing 75% will lead to more slippage of the NSTR token price. Instead users can easily bridge from Ethereum to Starknet to swap tokens to NSTR.
