I think that we need BASE for normal development. My argument is as follows:
The network has already proven itself, has many users (occupies the top 5 in TVL and has already overtaken Arbitrum) support from Coinbase and the american market
Only the top 5 applications in the BASE network have a strong position, with functionality like ours it will not be difficult to break into the top (acceptable competition)
Can help with listings with successful development
The network has its own wallet with good functionality and we will be there in any case, which will attract new users

adding a question here on Kakarot (Starknet evm). Will Nostra be compatible with Kakarot and available on MM as users might move their funds to Aave or other Defi EVM platform once Kakarot gets launched?
Base is definitely an ecosystem that is worth considering to expand to as it’s proving to be the leading across many metrics including the points you make.
There are already a few established lending protocols on Base, so the launch’s execution would need to be carefully thought through to gain sufficient traction and liquidity, especially as liquidity is generally sticky in Money Markets.
The Nostra EVM contracts for the money market are currently in the process of being audited, and we are also focusing on upgrading Nostra Swap (DEX aggregator) for the EVM launch. As these items get closer to completion, we can revisit the conversation.
To tap into Metamask and Rabby user base. Rather than waiting for people to move to Argent or Braavo we will have a unique opportunity to onboard millions of users who are already using EVM wallets.

And yet Base is necessary,
Firstly it is a very healthy EVM, unlike some others, people use it simply because it is fast and cheap!
Secondly, there is a huge chance that Coinbase will notice Nostra and list it on the exchange (look at moonwell)!
If we are interested in growing TVL, earning more fees, being more relevant in the industry, and having a potential listing on Coinbase, then Base is just what we need!
